What is a Pathway Program?
A Pathway Program is designed for international students who either do not have English proficiency test scores or whose scores do not meet the direct admission requirements of U.S. universities.Since the U.S. higher education system differs significantly from many other countries, the Pathway Program helps students build foundational language skills and adjust to the academic, linguistic, and cultural environment of studying in the United States.
What Does a Pathway Program Include?
The Pathway Program typically covers the first year of undergraduate or graduate studies.
For undergraduate students, credits earned during the Pathway can usually be transferred toward the degree, so students do not lose time.
For graduate students, transferability of credits depends on the program and university requirements.
The duration of a Pathway Program ranges from 1 to 3 semesters, depending on the student’s GPA and English proficiency level.
